The location was perfect for epic hikes and exploring Lochaline. We had a blast hiking around Ardtornish Castle and the views were #goals. The atmosphere at the hostel was super chill and we met some rad people. Definitely recommend for young adventure seekers!
The only thing we wished for was a cool party spot nearby. It would have been awesome to have a lively bar or club to hang out and dance the night away.

The self check-in process was incredibly convenient, especially when arriving late. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with thoughtful furnishings like shelves and sideboards for each bed. The kitchen was well organized and had everything we needed to prepare meals. The communal areas, both inside and outside, provided a nice space to relax and meet other guests.
The location of the hostel was a bit inconvenient if you missed the ferry, as it required a long drive on narrow one-lane roads. The lack of soundproofing was a downside, as we could hear other guests getting ready in the morning.

I had a fantastic experience at Highland Basecamp. the ride from Glenfinnan west to Strontian and down to the Basecamp was absolutely stunning, one of the most scenic routes of our Scotland trip. the staff were friendly and helpful, allowing us to check in early and offering a large drying room for our motorbike gear. the room itself was cozy and comfortable, with bunk beds and a surprisingly spacious wet room. the kitchen facilities were well-equipped and the lounge area was comfortable. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating with beautiful views. Despite being in the West Coast Midge territory, we didn't encounter any of them during our outdoor time. it was one of the best accommodations on our trip. Cons: Not obvious to find.
